I heard this one years ago It was said in the Doric but I'll write it in English( because I'm not very good at writing in the Doric)
John ,who was a bit henpecked, and Maggie had been married for years when John took ill and died.He went up and knocked at the Pearly Gates and asked if he could enter."Ah", said St Peter "you've to pass a spelling test first.Spell love"
John was happy to be able to spell out L-O-V-e.
"Quite right " said St Peter."In you come"
A few years later Maggie died, went up and knocked at the Gates. Now St Peter was having a day off and had put John in charge.
When Maggie saw him she said,"Oh,I'm so pleased to see you. I've missed you so much"
"Ah,but Maggie, you've to pass a spelling test before you can come in here"
"That's fine. What have I to spell,John.?"
"Czechoslovakia!"
