It was on the news earlier - apparently she's been doing all she can to get over her injury, but had to make the decision today to pull out.

She should only have given up her place earlier if she knew all along she isn't going to be fit. Assuming that not to br the case then I'd say she did the right thing and it's a shame. Her marathon world record equals the elite men's standard for the London marathon but it seems she was fated never to win an Olympic medal at the event.

Woman is past it. Period. She should relax after all her previous success and not carry on. Needs to focus on coaching some up and coming fit young people in my humble opinion. Incidentally, that head wobbling from side to side used to drive me mad LOL.

Sorry to hear that news. She was a great marathon runner and I don't know why people are being so nasty. And someone else is taking her place so she hasn't blocked anybody.
