Yes. The FA has suspended them not the clubs.

so what's the point of suspending them if it does them no financial harm?

Footballers generally hate not playing. They also lose out on appearance money, win bonuses and other bonuses

Only if the club fines them, are they not paid. Suarez was reported to have been fined £300,000.
