To be fair, the guy has had his punishment, has apologised, been contrite and appeared genuinely remorseful in the full glare of a media event.
He's obviously now under no illusions that regardless of his merits as a cricketer he is in the last chance saloon, so do we really need to continue the public flogging?
Whether he plays any part in the Tests or not, let's move on and look forward to one of the greatest events in the British sporting calendar.
