England have won the toss and will bat. Big Tim Bresnan in for Finn(no surprise there) is the only change.

Khawaja and Harris replace Cowan and Starc for the Aussies.

Forgot to mention, 11.15 start, players meeting the Queen first.
No.....no surprises on either side.......
Yes, I think Bresnan for Finn is fair. Bresnan tends to be much more economic, and also adds some depth to our batting.

England to bat first -- hope that Root gets at least a 50, I feel he's become a bit exposed at top of the order which is a pity as he's part of England's future. Still think they should have left him in the middle order and Compton to open, but...

Good luck England!!
don't think i'll bother ... the first was so boring :-)

The legend that is Steve Waugh will be ringing the bell today and will be the lunchtime guest of TMS.
Bresnan's overall batting and bowling averages about 32.

At Lord's: he bats 11, bowls 66.

Good choice?
He's only played two Lord's tests (plus some ODIs I suppose).
two against West Indies, one against Bangladesh, all of which should have helped him raise his averages rather than sink them.

Nice to hear Glen McGrath in the TMS box again.
I asked my son to tweet Aggers last week but he got no reply. I asked him to ask Aggers what would, in TMS tradition McGrath's name be?
McGrathers doesn't sound right. Would he have to be called Glenners, so it sounds phonetically better?
Anyone got any idea?
Glenners or possibly Maggers.
Would Agar have to be Aggers II?
Or, equally confusingly: Ashers?
Whoops, Cookie!!

18-1 (4.2)

Just back form the pool and it's 26-2, Root goes. Not the start we wanted or needed in perfect batting conditions.
Oh boyo. Sunny skies out is supposed to be perfect batting conditions, but Root's gone too! 26-2 after 5 overs.

From the pool, even....

KP edges, check for no ball before he walks........it's fine, he's gone.
?!!?!?!

This rate we'll be lucky to make 100.

Need a repeat performance from Bell now.
This is why I'm going to spend today paying more attention to Yorkshire's cricket - 429-2 so far.

Aw c'mon jim360, what about the first Test?
The momentum there swung almost by the hour, it was fascinating.
