Afternoon,

I wonder what should be worn for an international football match by spectators?

I don't really do football, but I am in attendance for a friend and would prefer not to get beaten up, jeered at or make my friends look silly.

How do I get camouflaged for the event?

Maybe you should go and make jewellery with the women of the tribe by the river.

Wear the most comfortable but non-descript clothing you can.
It doesn't generally happen at internationals but there is always one nutter hell bent on a bit of aggro.
As for club football, back in the day I always felt safe enough wearing my shirt at Anfield and Goodison but would never have worn it in Leicester had I known what was in store, it was pretty frightening.

Thankfully there's none of that nonsense at rugby matches.
if that doesn't get best answer there's no justice in this world ^
ChillDoubt, who do you support?

"My advice was well intentioned and based on bitter experience. When I wore mine I found it made me a target for half eaten pies thrown from the back of the stand."

Half eaten pies? No such thing surely!

Do you remember that panorama doc about the super-prison in Mexico where it's run by the inmates. That's what I envisage.

I assume CD's experience was a bit nasty.

I could wear this? http://www.visit-montenegro.com/images/montenegro-folk-costume.jpg
mankini and a baseball hat ? ( dress as you would going to the pub )
Sipo,

DID support, only vaguely follow them now.

Closely guarded secret sorry, I've mentioned it on AB once only.
Let's just say they are located nowhere near my residence in N. Wales!
On the way there, stop at a stall and get a multicoloured jester's hat with bells - that's covering all eventualities.
What game are you going to? I wouldn't have thought you would have a problem. An England fan once tried to rip my Norn Iron scarf off me at Wembley but that was 30 years ago very much in the Neanderthal Age

Morning,

I went to see the England/Montenegro game. It was a pretty poor show from England to be honest.

Wembley is nice though.

Also, I can now see how stupid my question was.

Cheers all!
Well, what did you wear?
It was a pretty poor show from England to be honest.

Come on, first half it was like watching Brazil at their peak.

"Well, what did you wear?"

Just a top hat.

"Come on, first half it was like watching Brazil at their peak."

That's sarcasm right? That, or you're not talking about the Brazilian football team!

Or the Brazilian team on the peak of a very slippery mountain in gale force winds after a few drinks...
i'd agree with mankini if it wasn't october
