Not long to wait for resumption of play, given that Perth's two and a half hours behind Adelaide. remains to be seen which team comes out swinging this morning, I believe it'll be another hottie there today !!

Good start from England with Johnson gone for 39
Question Author
And Smith follows on 111, Ozzies now 8/354
Question Author
And now Harris, this is becoming a procession !!
Question Author
Australia all out for 384
Question Author
The Brits have 25 ,minutes before lunch ...
Question Author
The opening pair have brought up their partnership to 50, the Fremantle Doctor has arrived early and with it the heat has dropped
I'm in Perth and it is still dark - how do manage to see the ball?
Question Author
They don't have to, Wolfe, they have a bell inside so they know where it is !!
Question Author
Openers 0/72 run rate 3.75
Question Author
Carberry out for 43
Question Author
And Root for 4
Root has got a dreadful decision there. England need to appeal to the match referee and get him re-instated.
England making a fist of it but that 60 from their tail could prove very costly.
Question Author
Agree he was very unlucky but it seems 3rd umpire reluctant to over - rule first decision, bummer I know

Good morning chill, your team has looked pretty good so far
146/3, let's hope Pietersen and Bell dig in
KP blows it again
wasn't quite what was needed really
Couple of quibbles, Steff, following this "The Brits have 25 ,minutes before lunch ... "

1. England and Britain are NOT synonyms
2. Thought they may play for England, some of that team would be hard-pressed to be described as Brits... ...

Otherwise, haven't seen the Root decision - won't have Murdoch in the house - and KP, brilliant though he often is, really doesn't always play innings the game situation requires.
Question Author
Yes I do know the two are not interchangeable, the team wears Brits on their shirts....well I think that's what it says, so .....
180/4 at stumps

I might be a wild-eyed optimist, but this is still -just- winnable
Wish I could share that sloopy, IMHO we're still playing for a draw. We did well to not lose any more before COP after Pietersen had lost another personal battle of his ego versus what the situation required.
His ethos is fine in 20/20 and ODI cricket, it's been some time since we've seen it come off in a Test match.
As for Root, he got a stinker, no other word for it.
Bell and Stokes may be just what we're looking for, the measured stalwart and the young whipper snapper saw out the day well.
Need them to survive till lunch tomorrow, then be backed up by Prior and the tail, for once!
If we can get to 340, it could get interesting.
