some of these winter sports are quite bonkers, adrenaline rushing, mind bending action. Not one for snow sports, but the aerial skiing and the snowboarding cross is very high octane action. If you haven't watched either take a look see

I can't get excited about some of these new sports - it's probably me, it looks like skateboarding on ice to me.....

that snowboarding cross thingy was absolutely mad, crash, bang wallop, like the roller derby, only on snow.

i have skied and wasn't very good, nearly killed a French kid on the first go, though to be fair he was in the way on the ski lift, but this type of action is out of all proportion to normal sport, the adrenaline must be pumping.

he got hit with the ski chair, the little one that you sit on, i got off, but he had stood at the top, his parents went mental at me, rather put me off -
the apres ski was good though

i went to Austria the next time and that was lovely, the people, the gluhwein, and the monumental views, confess i haven;t the nerve that these guys show in Sochi, quite incredible

even i knew you had to get out of the way, i fell off the chair more than stayed on.

The speed that those skiers go down the hill has to be seen to be believed. The TV gives you no idea of the sheer speed.

They do over two miles in under two minutes, so they are averaging over 60mph, on a steep sheet of virtual ice.

If you fall, you hit a very hard surface, very fast.

It's not like getting tripped up and falling on a football pitch!
