Curling! Must Be The Most Boring Sport Ever

Curling, especially on telly most boring sport, should put it on late good cure for insomnia!!

Netball would feature in my non-entity sports, despite having players in the family who have been/are on the England squads.

Because Eve M slid the stone down 150ft of rough ice, spinning it slightly so that it started outwards and curled in slightly. A single pound of excess force when it left Eve's hand would have sent the stone too far, and Switzerland would have won the match. But she sent it inch perfectly, and the girls stopped it in a circle the size of a dinner plate, 150ft away.

THAT is why it was stunning !!

If a golfer plays a shot from 150ft and stops it within a dinner plate distance from the hole, everyone thinks it was a great shot. What's the difference, except that the Curlers are playing on a difficult, icy surface?

Golf and cricket are pretty boring to watch but then most sports are IMO. The only sport I like to watch is sailing. Each to their own, though.

The Curling pitch is 150ft long.

The surface of the ice is rough so that the stones can be "curled" by gently spinning them, so they travel in an arc (unless you brush the ice to smooth it, to lengthen and straighten the path of the stone).

JJ...you and I know a fair bit about curling...don't know if you've curled... I have....Chewn hasn't....but he enjoys irritating...God knows why.
