Why Is Curling So Called?

I have googled but nothing clear seems to arise, as far as I can tell they go straight so why "curling".

They don't go straight, they curl. It looks straight because the curl is usually not that noticeable over a short distance, but is obvious along the whole path taken.

Yes. The ice has a rough surface, and they slightly spin the stones, so they curl in a slight arc towards the target.
