Good kick.....
The ever reliable Sexton converts, 17-7 to the home side, which doesn't really reflect how well Italy have played thus far.
The stats have just come up on the TV, Italy's score should be more on that basis.
Roll on the second half.

Now if we could just have a try to Italy in the first two minutes that would throw the proverbial 'gatto tra i piccioni.'
Have just seen the result for the Women's Englad v Wales mach, boy, the England women stuffed the Wales Women big style.

(Can't see the point of it myself, but well done!)

Back to the real game now (I know, I'm going to get pelters for that remark)
To be fair though alba, women's rugby is indeed massively improved and is quite a spectacle at times, in comparison to women's football, which is franky dire and worse than women's tennis on clay!
Ireland go for the catch and drive instead of taking the 3 on offer but it comes to nought as Italy hold out.....
Irish pressure resumes though and after again refusing the 3 points ofr the pen they take a quick one and Healy barrels over, which may snuff out any further resistance from Italy.
Sexton misses the fairly easy (by his standards) conversion, 22-7.
(Women's football, pah! yuck!)

The Italy defence are really to the fore and not letting Ireland do anything.
alba gives the 'curse of the commentator' as Sexton goes over for another score after some slick passing.....
he does however miss another conversion.

Well, as predicted, the Colosseum is crumbling with the fitness level difference.

The Irish are cruising now....
Ireland rampant now, it's possibly gonna be a cricket score with 10 minutes to go....
Was that really a forward pass?

drat! it was.

Who's the bearded guy? (Ireland) Surely it must have had a few tugs by any opposition?
What a win.

Brian will be missed :-(

All the very best to him for the future.
Sadly the Italian fightback never materialised and a flurry of scores at the end see Ireland run out easy winners 46-7.
The curtain closes too on arguably the greatest centre of all time, the mercurial Brian O'Driscoll. I wish him well in his retirement
Sorry, I mean closes in Ireland, he obviously has one more game to go next week in Paris!
Question Author
correct, chill - now pour les Ecossais.....
It's time for the anthems at Murrayfield, Scotland have their influential captain back in Kelly Brown, inexplicably missing for a couple of games.
Saint-Andre has rung many changes with 7 who didn't start last time out.
