Boat Race On Sunday
It appears to begin at 5.55pm. Is that much later than normal?

The timing each year depends on the time of the high tide. The race is rowed upstream, but is timed to start on the incoming flood tide, usually an hour before high tide, so that the crews are rowing with the fastest possible current.

Just to tease you, anne
Mixed about Tiger missing, obviously he needs his back in place.
Not my fav golfer as he can be so churlish at times and his behaviour re Payne Stewart's memorial at Pebble Beach was disgraceful. Nicklaus took him aside apparently over that..... He is good with kids though - saw him 1st hand in the clubhouse at the Byron Nelson (Dallas) with them, giving them the time that they needed.

I too noticed that the race seems to be getting later in the afternoon these recent years. Of course the race is dependent on the tides. However I suspect the later time is for American audiences accross the atlantic. I may be wrong, but there was the ubiquitous American commentor. There is often one with any sport the BBC shows. E.g Tennis, Golf to name a few.
