Roger Federer At Wimbledon
Only caught the last few games last night - he seems to have an arroogance about him. Also winning the last game with four aces was not impressive, he should watch Djokovich for some entertaining tennis - that man is brilliant!

Ooh I think Murray is a gent, too. Mark Petchey goes all misty-eyed when he talks about what a great guy he is. No one has a bad word to say about him, in fact, apart from people who still pick up on something he said jokingly as a teenager during the football World Cup all those years ago.

It seems bizarre to criticise Federer for winning by serving well...?
I think this year's Wimbledon is looking promising for some cracking games in the second week. Ferrer aside, there have been no major upsets among the top ten players in the men's draw, and all of the "Big Four" seem to be playing well (although Murray has a tough few games coming up and so does Djokovic). I'm hoping for a Murray v. Federer final which could happen on current form, but we'll see.

I do find different people's opinions strange, not sure how anyone could accuse Federer of being arrogant, and if anyone has the right to be it would be him.
See I'm a Nadal fan although grass is his weak surface for sure. No amount of PR, producing fake tears or cameos with stuffed puppets will make me like Andy Murray ever ever. If Rafa doesn't make it through then a Federer Djokovic final would be a thriller IMO.

The stuffed puppet cameo was bizarre. I don't think the tears were fake, though. Is it so hard to believe that these things matter to sportspeople?
I'm really hoping that the seedings will play out until the semi-finals anyway. For the first time in a while all of the Big Four look in good nick at the same tournament.

Winning the last game with four aces was not impressive??? What?
Have you never liked Federer or is this a new thing quizzy?
As long as it's glorious tennis, the game played at its best, I don't care who wins out of Roger, Rafa, or Novak, they're all wonderful but I do have a soft spot for Novak. I think we are so lucky to have them.

ladybirder, I think I've just gone off Roger - probably since he had those gold crowns on his tennis shoes and wore the strange gold trimmed blazer. Another thing - Nadal's routine of touching his ears and all the rest before he serves is very odd and getting on my nerves too. I think I'll just stick to Andy or Novak for the title this year.
Seemed to be a fairly good day for weather in the end, and a good win for Andy (although he seemed to drop off a bit towards the end) and Djokovic too. Tough matches for both to follow, though! Djokovic v. Tsonga and then probably Cilic afterwards; Djokovic in four for both of those I think. Murray v. Anderson I'd have as Murray in 3 tight sets, but the match after that would be against Dimitrov probably who looks in very good form. Might be a long, tense match that!
On the other side of the draw, Federer might find it tough to get through to the quarter finals if he meets Janowicz on Monday, and there he might face Wawrinka. Shaping up to be a very different Wimbledon from last year's tournament that was full of early shocks. This time around, the second week should see a fair few match-ups between the big names. Hopefully will make for great tennis.
