must be Lewis Hamilton after his win yesterday.
It will be Lewis no doubt - as he is forefront in everyone's minds right now after his brilliant win this weekend.
Snap Anne!
I think Lewis will win it too.
I'm surprised the Paralympic skier Jade Etherington wasn't on the list. She won more medals on her own than many countries in the Winter Games.
Not convinced that driving a car is a sport.
I no longer vote in this since the BBC stopped giving us freedom of choice who we voted for. Am a big admirer of Jo Pavey, but should a European gold medallist have priority over world champions such as Helen Glover and Heather Stanning (who broke the world best time for their event in rowing and didn't even make the long list) ?
My heart says Lizzy Arnold sliding on her tea tray, my head says Lewis will win.
It is good to see some minority sports on the list for once. Maybe we can get away from the big names winning everything in sight.
Wont be watching ,another excuse for bbc to wheel out their over paid ,over rated pundits (trying to be witty as it nearly worked 100 years ago now ,or does it just seem like that ) .Horse racing is the Sport of Kings what other sports comes anywhere near that title .
i suppose rooney will win next year if he's scored fifty or more international goals
I can't see Rooney ever winning. People don't like him.
I'm not sure I believe Bradley Wiggins when he said his best sporting achievement of his year was winning SPOTY. The award is a nice little thing to talk about for sports fans when most sport has finished for the season. It doesn't really matter to anyone, does it?
Rory McIlroy all day long!

Jo Pavey, wife and mother and a wonderful achievement at her age.
Why have a go at Lewis for moving away to pay less tax? Anyone in their right mind would do the same, I certainly would.
Forgot to at 10,000 mts at the age of 41
Can anyone tell me the number of multi millionaires who DO reside in the UK full time? Can't be more than a handful.
Also, given the choice I'm sure we'd all live in sunnier climes away from media scrutiny, wouldn't we?
And finally, if my chosen profession was one whereby I could possibly suffer death or serious injury every day I'd feel a little aggrieved at giving away half my earnings too. Far better the government chase the massive corporations avoiding tax here than chasing and haranguing a few individuals.
Jo Pavey all the way, a good, honest mum and housewife who runs because she enjoys it, not for the money, team Pavey for me!
