Manager Sent Off

Can anyone answer this please if a manager gets sent off (to the stands) is he allowed to go in the dressing room at half time?. Not googled it thought I would just ask.

My pure guess would be yes. They're barred from influencing what happening on the pitch so I see no reason they couldn't sulk in the dressing room. All the rest of the game if they wished.

except if he is allowed in the dressing room when the players are there at half time, he is back to being able to influence what goes on on the pitch surely?

I'm unsure that should count. He is banned from the pitch/stands/whatever whilst the game is in play. I'd have thought he could do what he likes (within reason) elsewhere. But looks like no experts are around to give a definitive answer.

The Accrington manager John Coleman was sent off in the 1st half against Morecambe after a touchline bust up, so to me he should not be allowed to speak to the players at Half time.

team officials are not included in the red card section under law 12 but they are covered under law 5 where the referee can dismiss them from further involvement. Therefore I would say that they should take no further part.

Does the referee have jurisdiction over the dressing room.? I don't think that he does.

Thanks guys/galls, thats what i think. I remember the time it was alleged that Jose Marinho was taken into a dressing room in a laundry basket.

if a manager is sent off he can not be near the dugout. if, however the FA suspend a manager then he can take training and team selection but can not attend matches. there is nothing in the rules that say he can not be on the end of a communication device. technically he can't give instructions once the match has kicked off. he definitely can not go into the changing room during half-time or on full-time.
