His match against Seppi and he goes down, claiming a Trapezium injury and, lo, treatment finished, he then destroys the opposition, break back and 6-1.....come on MacMurray, you are better than that.

People always trot out the "only hurt when he's losing" line, and I am not going to argue that it does often look that way, but why is this surprising? I am no sportsman but notice a similar phenomenon in my own life, namely that things always seem worse if you are in a bad mood and better if you are happy -- and this also holds when it comes to physical experience. I expect it's the same for any sports player. When they are losing it's harder to ignore the negatives or any physical issues, and if things are going well then they can find it easier to be positive. It's just far more visible is all.
Douglas; the section of my keyboard where the 'o', 'p' '(' & ')' are very often does not register. I sometimes have to tap the keys several times before the letter appears in the text and some posts can take an age to type out and i have to check my wording very carefully. I obviously failed to do do on this occasion and it must have been obvious to you that it was a 'typo':-) I was once reprimanded on the RUK Racing Forum when i missed the 'o' from the word account.
