We were up at dawn and drove home from our week away with every intention of enjoying a weekend watching The Open on TV. Thank goodness we didn't go to St Andrews, we thought about it. Are you like us, and missing the action?

So much for the commitment of the BBC to golf.

Today's play started at 7.45 AM but live coverage will only be
on BBC at 1.45PM after they have shown Homes under the Hammer,
Heir Hunters & Bargain Hunt

No wonder they have lost the rights to the Open as they have to so
many sports.
They lose rights because they can't meet the prices paid by the Commercial channels who have far greater budgets.

It doesn't seem to occur to Mister Anti-TV-Licence-Man that he also pays far more into the Commercial TV Companies.
Great to see young golfers winning & grabbing the limelight.
Typical BBC, looking forward to watching Oosthuizen, Kaymer and Cink play today, got a few quid on at fancy prices

No, they lose rights because they do little to support the sport compared to Sky.

I watch golf every week of the year on Sky. I can watch men's golf, women's golf, pro golf, amateur golf, European golf, PGA Golf, seniors golf, and so on. The BBC shows hardly any golf and, when it does, cherry picks the top tournaments.

This afternoon I would like to listen to golf, but is the BBC doing a dedicated radio broadcast for those who can't get to a TV screen? No! Simply mixing up golf with Radio Five "rolling news and sport". A real waste.
