He's broken the hex at last. Nobody beats our Andy 9 times a row. He has won the Rogers Cup in Montreal beating the Djoker in the final in 3 sets. Great match played with a lot of determination. Well done. Now No.2 in the world rankings.
It was an exciting match to watch from what I saw of it -- some great play from both players. And, of course, the end result being the one I wanted! It's been rather too long since Murray was able to beat Nole or Federer, albeit in part troubled by injury and -- I suspect -- a loss of motivation following his Wimbledon triumph. And now he's clearly back at or near his best. Sets things up really well for the rest of the year and beyond.
The marijuana smell Ric.cor, was when he was playing Jeremy Char. Funny, so one else seemed to be affected by a smell. The match with Murray was the final. It was a great match Daisy.
I have to thank Murray for beating Novak. Had Djoko won that match, he would have been long odds-on to win the upcoming USA Open. Thanks to the Scot, my man is now a more backable 5/4:-)
I didn't see the match where Djok was supposedly affected by marijuana, but I don't believe that just the smell of it could make him dizzy - even if there was actually someone smoking it. Could he have been using that as an excuse for a poor run of points?
Young Novak needs to see about higher sides to his pram.
The way the toys tumble out when things aren't going his way is alarming.
Smelled marijuana my erkie.
Ah, those rose-tinted spectacles, very fashionable, it would seem. Nearly all tennis players - including your precious Andy - look for excuses when games begin to turn against them. Got to give Djoko 10/10 for originality claiming that he was getting a tad high on the old Mary Jane:-)
It's worth pointing out that the marijuana thing was in the semi-final, that Novak was winning fairly comfortably, and not the final. So probably not gamesmanship that time.
^^
What, as opposed to losing them, you mean? Nothing whatsoever against Andy Murray - he's won me quite a few quid in recent times - it's just that i believe Djoko to be a far superior player. If Novak exits a tournament early, then i would probably be following either Federer or Murray. Simples:-)
