Now that England are out of the rugby?

Ireland sound like they have a good chance.

I found an England rugby top today dumped on the road in a Tesco bag, what a waste of money. Those bags are 5p each now.

Still supporting Scotland but it won't be long before I will be finding another team to support!
Not interested now we are out of it.
I always support South Africa whenever they're not playing England, in any sport, so that's who I'm going for. I feel I should support Wales or Scotland but I feel no affinity for them when we're not playing under the same flag, even though half of my family is Welsh. SA it is, for me.
Stoke City FC.

I meant "whom" are we supporting, obviously. Subject, object, transitive verb, etc.
No JJ, I think "who" is fine. You would say to "whom" are we giving our support? But ""who" are we supporting?" is correct. I've been reading a lot of Oliver Kamm's columns. [I feel I should put a kind of smiley face here, but don't know which one]
Question Author
Phew, thanks CJ! I'd hate to think I'd got it wrong.
Wales all the way
Sorry, JJ. I didn't mean to be pedantic. Don't get me started on misplaced apostrophes. ;)))
Question Author
Aah, yes ... apostrophes.

I wouldn't've thought of that.
Cloverjo, Oliver Kamm doesn't really have columnS (plural), does he? Every one seems to be a rehash of the same thing but applied to a different usage. Basically, each just says, "Whatever most British people say/write is correct...end of story!" Then he'll find a quote from Shakespeare, Dryden or some similar literary giant of the past to support that view and claim whatever he's discussing has always been 'correct'.
I'd rather watch Netball, they're better looking... only just ;-)

Of the home nations Wales.
"Whom" is correct, object of "support" whichever word order you use. Japan at the moment though I suppose they will become the first team ever to win three pool matches and still be knocked out, which is sooo unfair. After that, France on a good day, though they haven't really had many of those recently, or perhaps one of those lively antipodean teams.
Just want good matches, no preference but don't want to see South Africa, Australia or Wales win.....

Arksided, netball players bums are big, a well know fact.....
no France either.....
Lol. Indeed.
Never knew netball players had big botties.
You learn summat new every day.

Personally, I'm supporting the guys in pink, that takes some nerve to wear that colour :D
I'm half-Scottish, so they are always my 'other' team, but my Scottish mother's father was Irish, so I'm a bit Irish too and will happily cheer them on - bit odd that I'm English really! Mr. J2 lived in Wales for several years and even sang in a Welsh male-voice choir, so he is now supporting Wales - could get interesting in our house!
the chance of Wales meeting Scotland is pretty minimal, jourdain.....
DTC - my 6 ft. tall, blonde, blue-eyed daughter now plays netball after having been a national-class heptathlete and high-jumper. Believe me, her bum ain't big!
