Formula One team budgets for 2015 and their current (and probably final) constructor championship positions:

1. Red Bull Racing €468.7m (Constructors’ Championship Position – 4th)
2. Mercedes €467.4m (1st)
3. McLaren Honda €465m (9th)
4. Ferrari €418m (2nd)
5. Williams €186.4m (3rd)
6. Lotus €139.1m (6th)
7. Toro Rosso €137.45m (7th)
8. Force India €129.7m (5th)
9. Sauber €103.25m (8th)
10. Manor €83m (10th)

F1 is a complex sport and I have to admit that some of the tracks are not suited to modern day racing. Interlagos is one of those and the race there is seldom riveting unless it rains. Silverstone is another. Monza is likewise. But there are those where the racing is nearly always exciting. Spa Francorchamps (Belgium) is probably the best. Monaco is by far the most spectacular (though overtaking is very difficult but that often makes the race exciting).

Appreciating the sport requires some indulgence and concentration. It is not everybody’s cup of tea. A feature is that very often one team dominates. (Mercedes the past couple of years, Red Bull prior to that, Ferrari and McLaren also having their periods of dominance). But there are plenty of motor sport variations that are different for those who do not like F1.

NJ. So, out of 19 formula one circuits, only the one at Spa provides exciting racing. Need I say any more? Other than pass me a cigar :-)

I suggest you get one of those TV's that you can change channels on and turn on and off. Must be awful for you to be forced to sit and watch all this dull stuff.

It might sound silly but some of the best motor racing I've seen was Citroen 2CVs. They may not go as fast as F1 but, as a first approximation, they don't go round corners, so every bend in the circuit is an exciting event with cars all over the place.

Lots of people love it and they have every right to.
I love watching people run round a track 25 times which I also appreciate is not to everyone's taste.
But spare a thought also for rest of us :-)

You can make statements like these about any sport you care to mention -

Football - A bunch of blokes chasing a bag of wind across a field

Tennis - Two blokes hitting a ball at each other over a net

Atheletes - people running around and around a track ( one example )

Rugby - blokes running with a ball across a field

and so on and so on

If you don't like F1 - fine - ( i find a lot of sports a big yawn ) however lots of people do .

So what is the point of specifically starting a thread , stating that it's dull ?

ichkeria, the point is that the TV is wall to wall *** that someone doesn't like so unless you are forced to watch it why go out your way to slate it? Just turn over, so I naturally assumed that the OP had been strapped to a chair Clockwork Orange style and been forced to watch. The list of things I can't stand is vast but I don't start an AB thread to have a pop at them.

Well fair point Tora, though in my case I was merely answering someone else's comment :-)
But in contrast to the wall to wall *** you mention, the difference between that and F1, for me, is that I used to watch it and found it interesting, whereas now I no longer do. And I can contrast it with just about any other form of motor sport, (apart from rallying) -- which are interesting.
Particularly as it seems so hyped by comparison with the others
I expect that a trip to a British GP might be exciting, I suppose, before Ecclestone pulls the plug on that one
