Thank you, must just have missed his appearances on TV. What a wonderful celebration of sport over the last 2 weeks. I have enjoyed every single minute of it. Roll on the Para Olympics

Becaise he works for the IOC and not the BOC, he has to be seen (or not seen) as impartial and not supporting Team GB.

Seb Coe presented the medals for the Mens 1500m.

When presenting the Gold to Matthew Centrowitz Jr. he said "Welcome to the club".

Centrowitz's father Matt, although primarily remembered for running the 5000m, was also a 1500m runner who represented USA at that distance at the '76 Montreal Olympics. Coe ran against Centro at a number of meets in the late 70s/early 80s, as was mentioned in commentary of the medal ceremony by Steve Cram (who also variously ran against Matt Sr.)
