French Open - Nadal V Fed

Almost forgot about this mouth watering semi. Given Nadal's much superior record v Federer on Clay (13-2), i am taking him to win. However, he is long odds on so, for a bit of value, i've taken the 11/4 about a 3-1 win.

Clay is definitely Nadal's surface. He is much, much better on it than on grass or hard court.

The answer, Cloverjo, is you don't - not at Roland Garros anyway. His record here is astonishing - won 86 , lost 2! Which, of course, will soon be 87-2. The Jokerman will have to be at his absolute best if he faces him in the final on Sunday.

But, before that, just couldn't resist backing my man Djokovic in the next semi. He leads Thiem 6-2 in the head to heads, 3-2 on clay but actually lost 3-0 to him in the QF of this comp back in 2017. So, surely Thiem can grab a set? Djokerman to win 3-1 @ 11/4.

You may dislike him but he is the best all round player on the planet. Not as stylish as Fed, not as alluring to you ladies as Nadal, but one hell of a player. As you know, i like a punt on a few sports and i would never back against the Djokerman - even if he scrapes through to face Nadal in what, essentially, is the Rafael Nadal Benefit Tournament :-)

By the way, Clover, he was thrashed in the first set. Came back to win the 2nd but is 3-1 down until the rain saved him. Resumes on saturday.
