Good News

As some may know I had a knee replacement on 10th June. Went back to see my consultant today and was given the "all clear". Don't go back for a year and I can drive again - yippee! Isn't the NHS wonderful.

Excellent. My husband’s knees are on their way out, but he won’t have replacements. Would you recommend them, maggiebee?

Good news that all is ok. I had a hip replacement last week.

Definitely Cloverjo, I was so crippled for almost a year before I had the op. Not going to say it's pain free, but that can be controlled and doesn't last for long. Exercise and walking every day speeds up recovery. Try to persuade your hubby, it'll give him a new lease of life.

My dad had both his knees replaced one week apart 8 years ago. He is coming up for 84 and plays golf at least 3 times a week. Says he can't kneel any longer but I'm not sure he's ever tried but I remember him saying before the operation that someone told him that would be the case and I think it's just stuck with him. It was definitely worthwhile him getting it done. He did follow all the recovery advice he was given so I think that helped
