There is no disputing Steve Smith's skills but isn't he the most annoying batsman to watch?

He does fiddle about a bit between balls.
That made me giggle :-)
Oo'er Danny. Did you mean to say that (says LB giggling)?
I'n surprised Smith doesn't have someone to do that for him, danny :)
Cricket balls. Some minds------
No, I don't agree Mexican.
I would rather watch Smith make 125 than the immaculate stroke play of Root, making 23.
Sqad, it's not the strokes he plays, it' what happens between deliveries that is annoying.
I'd personally rather watch Smith go for a golden duck this Summer. He can save the sumptuous run-scoring until some other series :)
danny...no I still disagree...watch the antics of Nadal before serving, it being a strict routine essential for some top class players.

Jim...;-)
Sqad, Smith isn't playing tennis.
Well that may be the end of his series - apart from being flattened by an Archer ball at nigh on 95 mph that got him in the neck and time off for a concussion analysis, he also got one on the arm and is now off the pitch to hossie for an x-ray, a break suspected.
That was a nasty-looking blow to his neck. Brave of him to come back out to bat.

I’ve never noticed his annoying quirks.
"She who must be obeyed" likens his antics at the crease to those of a chicken, scratching and pecking and head bobbing.
In fairness any batsman who goes out and faces fast bowling needs bottle, but none of them measure up to the old timers who went out and faced the likes of Holding, Lilley, or Trueman with nothing more than a cap or floppy hat on their heads. Wasn't it said that you knew that summer had arrived in England when you heard the smack of leather on Brian Close's ribs?
I find Steve Smith annoying and want to smack him in the chops. He is, however, a brilliant batsman.
He always seems to be there, either batting or fielding.
He leaves deliveries spectacularly.
He’s only irritating because he scores stacks of runs for the Australians. Were he English nobody would even raise the point.
He should never have been in the position to be hurt as in my opinion he should never have been picked. He's a cheat. Might be their best batsman but not a shining example to any youngsters is he. They way he snivelled and had his dad behind him onscreen showed what a cowardly little nerd he is. He is stopping someone else moving up and thereby others moving up.
Always good to see charity and forgiveness. Beheading? Hanging, drawing and quartering?
