I'm 14 and I love soccer. And I want to go pro. The problem is I've never played for a travel team and currently i can't afford one. also, i'm home-schooled. So I can't just play for my high school's team. My parents have said that when I turn 15 or 16, they might consider paying for me to join a mls academy. So until then how can I improve drastically and become one of the best in the country by only individual training? And is it possible for me to still become pro? Or should I just give up on my dream? Someone told me that by 14, I should already be a phenomenal player and well established. Unfortunately i'm not. Is it too late for me to start now?

Saying MLS, I'm guessing you're American? All I can say is to keep practicing, hone your skills and hopefully someone will see you and recognise your potential. Good like kiddo.
Unfortunately for you, if any clubs had any interest in you, they would have contacted your parents long ago. Having said that, I don't know if the scouting network in the USA works on the same basis as here in the UK. Here, clubs are signing boys as young as 7 and 8 years old. Out of all the boys signed by the clubs, less than 1% will ever make an appearance in the first team. It's very difficult to make it to the top. Sorry if all of that is negative, but I would say it's reality, and just the way it is.
The place to ask is a soccer team..Do you support a particular team? You might contact them and ask about their program, or maybe go online and look on their website.
Get out there and play for anyone who will give you a game to hone your skills meet people and maybe be seen.
Somehow or other you have to find a team or teams to play with. I'm no football fan, but it is a team sport and, no matter how highly your individual skills are honed, you have to learn team tactics and how to play with others. You are American and systems are different - but team skills are not. Good luck.
