We keep hearing about the funding our GB competitors in the Olympics receive, but I've never come across any information about how much this is. For example, both Max Whitlock and Adam Peaty have partners and young children, so presumably it is a significant amount, as, as far as I know, they don't have any other employment.

Do they all get the same? Is it a monthly 'salary' or a yearly amount? Who decides?

In addition to official sponsorship from the British Olympic Association, I do believe that some athletes are sponsored by businesses local to their place of abode.
Gold medallist BMX rider Beth Shriever had to crowdfund to get to the Olympics, after UK Sport decided only male BMX riders would be sponsored because no British female rider qualified for Rio 2016.

Thanks, Margo. I've seen totals like that many times, but never any indication of what individuals receive - that's what I'm wondering about.
Beth Shriever had to raise £50,000 to compete in the Olympics, so it is fair to assume that is how much was given to the male competitors who were Government funded.
