As a lifelong Toon fan - I can still picture Jackie Milburn scoring after 45 seconds against Manchester City in the 1955 F.A. Cup Final - I am torn on this one. I am delighted by the investment and the improvement in the club's fortunes which it should bring in its wake but the source of the funds gives me cause for concern. As Danny says, the fans can't choose the...

Why do you spoil yourself time after time APG, it’s starts off being a decent debate then it’s ‘do some homework ‘ yada yada, yada , you’re not forthright as you like to think you are, you are quite rude !
even if every single fan didnt like where the money came from, what influence do they actually have over it - zero
Question Author
None at all bednobs
You were rude by insinuating because I am a 'foreigner' I would not understand the passion of football fans. I suggested you 'do your homework' with regard to Ice Hockey fanatics in Canada. I really can't see there was any animosity in that reply.
Steve Bruce’s job looks shaky JD
________

Aye, sack him and get Mark Hughes in.

Bednobs, I agree, they can't do a thing to stop it. Putting up with something you have no control over, and openly celebrating the fact that Saudis have taken over your club by hooting and cheering and wearing tea towels on your head are two quite different things!
Bobbi You have no answer have you except to throw insults. Enjoy your afternoon.
Not all 'Toon' fans are happy. I came in from shopping just in time to catch a bit of Jeremy Vine's prog on Radio 2. While most of the fans were expressing their delight at the takeover, there were one or two dissenting voices. One was even considering switching allegiance to the 'Boro!
Ken I bet not everyone is happy -its not all black and white (sorry lol!)

Yep, that's how I see it too. If I was a Toon fan, I would be even more disappointed with the incoming owner than I was with the outgoing one ... not celebrating.
To be fair to those Toon fans who were hollering and whooping outside the football stadium, they were probably doing so because they had finally got rid of Ashley. They'll soon turn on the new owners if things don't improve on the pitch.
Question Author
That’s exactly right Ken, I too believe it was because Ashley had left at last
What's the worst that the hated Ashley has ever done? And what about the adored new owner? Disappearing his wife and murdering a dissenting journalist, for starters ...
I seem to recall that Ashley was welcomed with open arms by the fans who believed he had saved them from financial ruin back in 2007.

Par for the course in most football clubs Ken , look at the ‘ Special One’ ?
Question Author
As a Manager , not as an owner

By putting tea towels on their heads to look like Saudis?
Perhaps they were rehearsing their Nativity Play? ;-)
Brilliant, Mamya!
