Had 3/4 yesterday afternoon (last one placed) for a £57 return, then 3/4 again last night (other one also ran) for £38 return. Today's main racing is so competitive, i will count myself quite lucky if i get a single winner. Still, you have to be in it to win it.
Had 3 or 4 on the 'short-list' for the 2.15 and i have to admit that the offer of doubling the jackpot if Protektorat wins swayed it for me.

Despite a couple of these drifting in the market (Floki out to 7/1 from opening 3s), i'm still hopeful of some sort of return. As regards Floki, normally i wouldn't back a horse returning from such an absence but i do recall it having a touch of class and it is in very good hands.

I had a friend who used to spend his mornings at his desk studying the horses so that he could put on a bet at lunchtime.

He once won £10,000 and he said that he wasn't going to waste it. He got legless on alcohol and stoned on weed and then 'invested' the rest at the bookies. He couldn't understand why his wife (now ex-wife) got upset at his antics.
