Honestly Sqad, I don't think the LTA had much choice in the matter. If they had let the Russian/ Belarusian play Wimbledon, they would've faced a massive public backlash. I think I'd have liked to have seen them allowed to play, but their prize money instead donated to the Ukrainian aid fund. The better the Russian athletes do, the more money goes to Ukraine.

I think there's a point being missed here.
I think it is fairly common ground (except perhaps among Russians and their few allies) that Russia's behaviour is shocking. Its invasion of Ukraine is but the latest (and by far and away the worst) episode in a litany of uncivilised atrocities. However they are viewed (whether as "independent" or "individuals" or whatever) Russian competitors will be seen as part of the nation that has perpetrated these crimes. Russia sees sporting prowess as a demonstration of its might. You only have to examine the state sponsored drug offences that have taken place in order to gain sporting advantage to see that. This has seen them banned (though not banned enough) from those competitions and it was telling that Putin delayed his "special military operations" until after the recent Winter Olympics had ended. from the Olympic Games.
Unfortunately all Russians must bear the tarnish that their leader had brought upon them. It would be outrageous if they were welcomed to any major international sporting event.
