I've just googled and was surprised at the number of fans that have died or been taken seriously ill at football matches but the reports go back years.
Not surprising really when the think about the very large number of people that attend matches during the season, people of all ages.
Before the internet would we have been aware if it didn't happen locally or involve 'our' team? I doubt it
