Hello everyone. My daughter Clara is six years old and has dwarfism, 1'5" and 18 pounds.
Clara (along with me and my husband) not really a fan of boardgames. I am trying to think up a good sized list of activities that are more of the realm of physically active that we can all three enjoy. So far I have thought of beanbag toss (corn hole) and bowling. Would these two activities be enjoyable for me, my husband, and my daughter?
Can y'all plz help us think of some other ideas? I would like to have a good sized list of activities that we would all enjoy and that Clara could play alongside us.
please list some additional activities and ways that we could adopt them down to her size and strength if needed.
Swimming, model making, painting. If you have cycles Clara is still light enough to fit in to a trailer like these https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-accessories/child-bike-trailers/
Perfect if you live near off road cycle trails. You can buy a type that transforms in to a jogging buggy so you and your husband could go running with Clara.
Football (soccer if you are in the US) could be fun with a smaller, lighter ball.
I was perusing Poundland today and noticed that they had a badminton set (two racquets & shuttle-cocks) and a child’s golf set (two clubs & balls) at £2 each. Although the items may be a bit big for Clara, they are light-weight (being cheap) and she might be able make use of them, especially if you have a garden.
Enquire in your local area and see if there are any support groups especially for children like Clara .There she will meet up with lots of others with dwarfism and make lots of friends and enjoy social interaction and activities. xx
How about something like this for playing in the garden - with the bubbles floating, it would give someone of limited stature time to get to them (as long as it’s not too windy).
Although I’m bit sceptical that the bubbles can be batted back & forth, and won’t stick to the bat or burst on contact.
