As an former netball player I can only say our girls make a formidable opponent! All the very best to them in the final.

I know some girls who are keen netball players. They, and their mum, are absolutely loving this.
Oh, and it's the final at 5pm today vs Australia.

For anyone who might like to watch but unfamiliar with the game ... the rules.

Wild horses wouldn't drag us away from the TV from 5.00 p.m.. (I'm prepping dinner now!) Mr. J2 is also hooked (took a while and many diagrams before he understood it).
The semi-final was nailbiting in the extreme.
I was also a netballer as well as Jumper/Sprinter (Goal Defence usually). Elder daughter (in her 40s) moved to netball after
athletics and is now G.K. in a league team. Granddaughter is
Goal Defence in the same club (1st team).
It should be a great final. Come on the Roses!!!
PS I thought N.Z. panicked a bit in the last quarter & that gave the game to the Roses.
Don't know anything really about netball (just had a quick squizz at the rules - I knew you couldn't run with the ball, but I didn't know you have to pass it within 3 seconds) but would have watched the final today.
Unfortunately I have to go to a Residents Association meeting, which I am absolutely dreading; I'd rather go to the dentist then take my car for an Mot!
Still, next time I check in to AB the meeting will be over - and so will the final.....
Well done them, JoggerJayne will be pleased I remember her being a big follower of Women's netball. Good luck to them.
They've already beaten Australia in the group stage, which must give them a lot of confidence. Good luck to them.
Any predictions Naomi?
Crossing my fingers. Not a sport I follow typically, but dare say I'll be tuning in this afternoon!
Well done indeed, fingers crossed for them this afternoon & I'll have it on somewhere :-)

No predictions LB. I haven’t seen Australia play. What do you think?
Question Author
Jourdain, I was GS.
I wonder if we could make up an AB team? I'd be better at GK these days. :)
Question Author
What a good idea. Any offers?
As someone who's never played netball, or watched a match, all I can say is "Good luck girls, and enjoy yourselves".
I've played Netball in middle school mixed sex classes (10-13) I quite enjoyed that and rounders, but alas I wouldn't qualify for the women's team.
Never played it N, Hockey and Tennis were my sports. I'll be watching though.
Question Author
LB, I played hockey and tennis too, but never in serious competition. I played netball in league teams - we had an England player in my school ‘old girls’ team.
