Mountains In U.k. - Scone & St...

Dear all, I thought that I had read the definitive answer to this question but now I have found out that *that* answer was incorrect - hence I am turning to the font all of all knowledge - AnswerBank!
Q: What football teams in England have never been relegated from the topmost level of the English football pyramid? I read (in a national newspaper) 7 names and I even checked via ChatGPT (and IT got the question wrong as well). I'm not going to list the names here, so I can see what other people know. It is for a quiz that I am setting later on this week and just need to verify what is correct. (NB 'topmost level' includes the Premier League AND the previous First Division)
We can narrow it down with a bit of lateral thinking.
The team has never been relegated from the top league - so that means it's one of the teams currently in the premier leaugue.
I'm fairly sure that all the big teams that have been in the premier league since its inception have all been relegated at some point in the past, so it has to be one of the teams that is in the premier league for the first time.
This narrows it down to:
Brentford
Brighton
Luton
I'm almost certain that Luton were in the old division one, so that rules them out and I'm fairly sure that Brighton also played in the old division one.
I've just googled Brentford and they played in the old division one and were relegated in the 1946-1947 season.
I'm obviously missing something??

Take all the teams in the football league (incl premiership). Have any of them played all their league games in the top division, eg Div 1 or Permier league?
There are none, the closest is Arsenal that has played every single game since 1913 in Div 1 or Premiership.
Geddit?
//// I think you'd misunderstood there giz. ////
What have I misunderstood??
I understand the question to be "what team have never been relegated from the top league in English football".
Apart from the answer of "any team that's never been in the top league" ..... I can't find any teams that fit the answer ....
The answer would be a team that is currently in the premier league and has never played in the top league in any shape or form.
So let's say Crawley, for example, managed to gain promotion to the premier league .... they would be in the unique position of being the only team to have never been relegated from the top flight ..... until they get relegated :)
It's probably just worded poorly, but I remember seeing this question a few years ago and there was a valid answer then, as there was a team in the premier league and it was their first ever time in the top flight .... so they'd never been relegated from the top division. The only problwm is I can't remember how long ago it was and what the answer was .... although the club has since been relegated, so it's no longer a valid answer.
The list that I read was:
Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and [something else ... didn't make a note of them and I cannot actually remember but I did remember the number 7 for some reason]. Even I knew this was wrong as I remember Man Utd being relegated (courtesy of help from one Dennis Law), and Chelsea, Everton and Arsenal have all been relegated (had to look up the dates though ...) CHATGPT gave Man Utd in their list (which is helping me to realise that perhaps AI is not the wunderkind that everyone is making out), so is the list only Liverpool and Spurs? ... but I have found a statement (Wikipedia) that Liverpool were relegated in 1953/54. So does that only leave Spurs?
I agree that syntactically and semantically my question was not 100% watertight but I imagined that respondees would have figured out the gist of the question, especially if they were football buffs.
In English football, relegation refers to teams finishing the season in the lower positions of the league table, resulting in their demotion to a lower division for the following season. Relegated teams experience a drop in competition level, moving from a higher-tier league to a lower one. This change is a consequence of underperformance during the season. The teams relegated from a particular league vary each season, making promotion and relegation a dynamic aspect of English football, contributing to the competitiveness and excitement of the sport.

//The list that I read was:

This would be for the Premier League only. All were relegated previously. Spurs in the late 70s, Liverpool in the mid 50s. Brighton haven't been relegated since they returned to the top flight several years ago, but last went down in 1983(-ish).
