Englands mens goalkeeper in football has conceeded 94 goals in the last season and a halve at club level, so am i to assune there is no one better or is the manager, as clueless as the last one?

The England set up is different from club football, and Jordan Pickford always plays well for England, plus Gareth Southgate is doing a far better job than Roy Hodgson did.

You clearly have no clue about football. A good defence should make it much less likely that the opposition is in a position to score a goal. What do you think the defence outfield players do?

Statistics can be meaningless in these type of situatons.

Let's say, for example, that a tem manager decides to adopt an ultra-ultra-attacking policy, telling his players that he couldn''t care less if they let in a dozen goals in every single match, as long as they always score at least 13 goals in every match.  The team could then win every single game but still leave the goalkeeper with an apparently appalling record (even though he might actually be the best goalkeeper in the league by far).

so that this thread now makes sense the answer removed at the top said  that the reason for conceding that many goals, lie with a rubbish defence at club level.
