why do the dart players chew the flights on their darts? i've seen taylor do it and i just wondered why anyone know?

I THINK it's the way he throws his first dart to lie below the treble 20 so that the following two can rest on it, hopefully in the treble. If he didn't adjust the flight then the second and third dart may deflect away from the treble.

I think Taylor is one of the very few that do it. (mostly when things aren't going right for him) A slight nervousness/irritability i would have thought?
