after yesterdays shambles hughes has to go and most of the current city team. They are not fit to wear the shirt. Dont tell me they are not his players as they are not playing for him. I have been a city supporter for 40 years and this has to be one of the worst.
For what they get paid there is no excuse for players not giving their best on the pitch, but in Man Citys case it looks as if most of them know they are for the off soon so dont give a toss about the team or the supporters, and it is obvious that they wont play for Hughes, i think that if he gets four or five quality players in you will soon see a diference, as they will be his players.
If the rumours are true and he's looking at bringing in Craig Bellamy and Scott Parker then it just about sums up his managerial abilities - limited. - He's out of his depth.
Nice to see Rob Earnshaw score against Man City, Hughes was reluctant to play him when he was Wales boss and preferred the mobile John Hartson too often
Problem is in January its difficult to get really top quality players and then in the summer all this talk of kaka aguero etc is daft because they wont even be in the uefa cup let alone the champions league, hughes suited blackburn and that limited dour way of playing im not sure he is what city need
And spending approx 11 million on Wayne Bridge - a decent player but I'm still not sure which is his strongest foot ! Is Bridge the first player that Chelsea have sold and made a profit on in the Abramovich era ?
city can pay any amount of money, they couldnt afford to faff around so just said to chelsea here is 11 million give us wayne bridge, all he is is a stop gap left back till they get someone better
All that matters to any player the world over today is how much money can they earn, if its true about the money available at Man City they will get almost any player they want.
realisticlly though if you were lionel messi would you leave barcelona and eto, henry etc and join up with richard dunne? :) if you are on 120k a week plus endorsements how much money do you actually need
I would be seriously worried if I was investing big bucks, and, on the first day of the transfer window, my manager goes out and blows 12 million on a reserve left-back. It won't be until the Summer that City start spending the really big money, and I reckon by then, Hughes will be history.
PS. Eljohnno............ Chelsea also made a profit on Arjen Robben. Signed for 12 million, sold for 24.
