Hamilton finished third after the Kubica / Vettel collision and Trulli's disqualification for passing him under the yellow flags - great for the McLaren team . . . BUT. . . two laps from the safety car being used was he not lying seventh behind Trulli and Rosberg? How / when did he pass those two??

Trulli spun off after the safety car came out but before the field had bunched up. Hamilton went past him. Trulli then felt it was ok to recover his position but the stewards disagreed. It was legitimate for Hamilton to pass Trulli because Trulli was off the track. It was not legitimate for Trulli to overtake Hamilton on the track. Sounds like a reasonable...

Good point. I didn't see that in the live race or the lunch time repeat. Some drive from the back!
Went past Rosberg as the latter was on the wrong tyres and sliding all over the place - that was shown on the live broadcast.

Thanks you three - that explains it as far as my watching the race on Sunday goes.
BUT what about today's decision.
To me it throws the whole process up in the air - doesn't it????
