How do your child get chosen to walk out with footie players?

Can someone please tell me how they choose the children to walk out with the players during a big match? Do you have to register some where with their names and then is it a pick out of the hat situation?

Different Clubs vary in how they go about this but, basically, contact your preferred Club and they will tell you how to go about it.

Thanks for your replies. The thought of having to pay never even crossed my mind! I should have known money would be involved. It would be interesting to see how much though!
Not always true Haggisdj. My friend's young son, who was in the Junior Team of his local professional club, got the chance to do this - for free.
Some clubs auction it off for charity.

I don't mind paying if it's for charity as it would be for a good cause.
