equivelant distance swimming/walking

Swimming 1km is harder than walking 1km (in most cases).

But how far would you need to swim in a swimming pool to be an equivelant difficulty level to walking 10km?

I found this hard to word so i hope it made sense.

I'm asking because my friends are going to do a 10k sponsered walk for a local charity and they wanted me to do it but i have a bad foot foot which doctors are confused about and have advised me not to walk more than 4km or run at all if i can help it.

So i said that i will swim a distance which is equally hard . . . but i don't know what distance IS equally hard. . . and that's where i need your help. . .

plus i'm as good at swimming as they are at long distance walking which is probly useful to know when working out the distance i need to go
