dress code chester races

not sure where to put this but going to chester races on saturday,the dress code is quite strict,we are going in the county enclosure.i had an outfit sorted,shiny leggings,fancy glitzy top/dress and short fur jacket,after looking on the website everyone seems to be wearing stuff like they are goin to a wedding.i have been before but not to chester,just cant be bothered wearing a dress and freezing and being uncomfortable!we are going round chester at night so want to look trendy and not frumpy!!will i be ok?i am also only young so wont look mutton!haha!

I think you'll be fine, I went to Chester races last May, and really the dress was very varied, from, as you said people looking as if they were going to a wedding, with big hats or fascinators in their hair, down to others dressed very casually, some very outrageous outfits too, and lots more in between! Hope this helps, enjoy the day, maybe you'll even win a few quid!.........welsh

I used to go to Chester races quite often when we had the horses.
There is a dress code in the County Enclosure but as long as the Ladies don't wear jeans and trainers you should be fine.
The Gentlemen have to wear a jacket and tie to gain entry,I once left my jacket in the car on a blisteringly hot day and was made to borrow one ,out of an "emergency cloakroom" they have, to get in the owners and trainers area!
Have fun and back some winners (Back the ones drawn low in the races up to a mile)
