Why is Tottenham above Man City in the Table?

Both have the same points and the same goal difference. I thought places would then be alphabetical, so City would be above Tottenham, but obviously not, as the City are below Tottenham.

How is it decided then?

Hi Gromit, after goal difference I do believe it is on the number of goals scored.
It is, have a look at this table it shows the goals 'For' and 'against':

Tottehman should always be above City anyway
