A few years ago a friend told me about a greyhound who cheated during a race.

This dog ran diagonally across the centre of the circuit to get to the end.

I thought that the dog was called 'Mick the Miller' but can't find any details of this incident - so it was probably another dog.

Is it a true story? What was the dog's name? (I know that it didn't actually cheat - it would not understand the concept of winning, all he would see was a moving hare).

Mick the Miller ranks alongside Red Rum and Arkle as one of the most famous sporting animals ever, but I'm unaware of the event you refer to.

However it's certainly not unknown ;-)

All I can say is that I hope you found that clip via Google and it is not on your favourites.

I shall give the greyhound story some thought - or just forget about it and think of something else to wonder about. Too much time on my hands?!
