West Ham are winning the race to move into London's Olympic Stadium. Appropriately enough, since they were the only bidders willing to keep a running track at the 2012 venue.
The Olympic Park Legacy Company vote tomorrow to recommend either West Ham or Tottenham's bid for the stadium, and widespread reports say they will plump for the former.
Their recommendation then has to be rubber-stamped by novelty mayor Boris 'Wiff Waff' Johnson and the government, but it's basically a fait accompli.
Should the Stadium be retained as it is so that it can be used for other Sport as well as Football ??
Loads of interesting Answers, the debate about the right and wrongs of it all will no doubt carry on for sometime.
Whoever 'inherits' the Stadium after the Olympics next Year be it West Ham or Tottenham, hopefully they will keep it a multipurpose Arena.
it should be used for various sporting events.
its been built for the olympics but will hardly be used after for money spinning events so let west ham have it but have a clause where it has to be used also for athletics and other events.
i would like to see a ground share with leyton orient (as its close to them), they have little income and this ground share with west ham could secure the future of leyton orient for years to come.
it has to be used regularly to get the money back that was spent building it and football would be the best way of making the money back as its the national sport.
