windows 7

i have had my dell xps710 for about 4 years now and running windows xp media. I am thinking of upgrading to windows 7. I have been on the dell website and the list of compatible versions for the xps710 only goes up to vista, it doesn't mention windows7. Before i go to the expense of purchasing a copy does anyone know if my pc would work with w7. I am not sure of the specs other than it has a dual core 1.8 (i think) prosessor, 6 gb memory, geforce 285 graphics card and a soundblaster x-fi extreme audio sound card, hope you can help thanks

thanks for that, just a couple of minor problems that can easily be fixed otherwise ok
