Drop down boxes on website wont load

Can anyone explain to me why arrow drop down boxes on wesbites will not work on my PC?
I am running Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7, on a PC.
I can click the arrow, but nothing drops down.
I imagine it is something to do with security, but I need to view the options!
