After failing to prevent enormous amount of spam flooding my email box I have reverted to a Sky account. Although I have checked my settings and Sky confirm that they have no problem, I still receive mail in duplicate form. Can anyone advise me as to what I can do to remedy this error please? Thanks

Are you using a pop3 incoming server or an IMAP incoming server (the server name should tell you)

Hi ChuckFickens I'm using POP3....Tel
Search for "Pop3uidl.dbx" and delete (or rename) the file when you find it, do a send and receive, you may get all the messages stored on the server once more but new ones should only be received once from then on.

I have not been able to locate "Pop3uidl.dbx". I've followed "on-line" tips on finding it but I guess you will know better than most of them so, can you point me in the right direction. Thanks. Tel
Follow steps one to six here and the file should be in the mail store folder..

Is it perhaps a hidden file?

Do you need to set Windows to display hidden files perhaps?

Thanks to you ChuckFickens I found the "Pop3uidl.dbx" and deleted it as you said....Also emptied the Recycle bin but I still am receiving duplicate mail. Trust me to have more involved faults than anyone else eh?
