HP laptop cannot find any network connections

until recently i ws able to connect my laptop anywhere in my house as i have a router, but now when i ask it to connect it says no wirless networks were found in range, now i no there are at least 4 others connectionsi usually see, help please. thank you

have you switched your wireless card off? it normally done with a little switch or button or sometimes with a combination of two keys on the keyboard.

umm dont know where to find that, it is an HP Laptop

HP have made hundreds (if not thousands) of different laptops over the year.... any chance of narrowing this down a little with a model number?
press function F8 - that seems to be the general key for wireless switch
do you always use 'standby' mode on the laptop? I switch mine off at least once a week or I get this problem ...

ok thank you all for your help i manged to find the wireless button , soo small, now working fineeeeeeeeeeee, tytyty

that's normally increase screen brightness on HPs
i checked the laptops in the office 2 toshibas,1 acer and a dell and they are all F8 - guess i should never make assumptions!!
