Flashplayer- Cannot download latest version

I am constantly getting messages saying I need to update flashplayer to view certain video clips. When I try and download the latest version I click on download and nothing happens. A box states that I may need to turn off any virus checker. I have AVG free which seems to work OK. Question is How do you turn off AVG? Is there anything else that may be preventing the download? I am running Windows Vista.

Brilliant - Thanks Buddy. Do you know how to get the sound icon back on to the task bar to allow volume to be adjusted? - mine has vanished!!

To temporarily disable AVG Free, see here:

Also, it is sometimes be necessary to uninstall 'Adobe Flash Plug-in', and then restart your computer, before downloading a Flash Player update.
