It is not detrimental to my laptop (Acer Aspire 5315), but it is a bit annoying.
It is a little red mark which has appeared, roughly in the centre of my screen. It is quite small, about 2mm x 1mm. It wasn't there yesterday and I wonder if anyone has any suggestions?. It is there all the time, whether I am online or working offline.
If it is a 'stuck' pixel(2mmx1mm will be more than one pixel though) then some of these may help fix it.
I have never had that problem so have no idea how good any of these might be.
But yes, 1mm by 2mm would be a huge pixel (or sub pixel) so it's probably a few that have got stuck, have a look with a magnifying glass and you'll be able to see the individual pixels.
If it's fully stuck then nothing you can do about it, and it won't be covered by warranty as a certain amount of dead or stuck pixels are allowed before it's considered a fault.
Thanks for your replies. At the moment it is not causing other than mild annoyance, so I think I will leave it for the time being, and if it does not get any worse, I can live with it.
