Unlocking a word doc

I've been sent a job application form in Word and the doc is locked. I have an iMac so the problem may relate to that. Any thoughts please on a simple way to unlock it? Have tried resaving and that didn't work and have tried to copy parts but it won't allow me to copy even a section. (And no, I don't want to ask the company that sent it). With thanks

Go to View............Outline...........on the outline toolbar click Unlock.

Outline and Master Document are both 'greyed out'.

Companies generally want their application forms filled out by hand, not typed. So I'd guess they've sent it to you locked so you have to print it and write on the print out.

Which version of Word are you using?

Maybe that's why I'm stuck.............I have a different version of Word.

I've tried Save As with .txt and .rtf etc but still can't get into it!
